Be a Part of the Cure Walk

We would like to THANK YOU to our 2021 participants! Your support helped raise $152,000 — and every dollar stays right here in Arkansas to fund cancer research which focus in part on clinical trials for new drug therapies, cancer screening, and long-term survival studies within the state. 

The Be a Part of the Cure Walk aims to raise awareness in the community about cancer and to provide the participants with education on cancer prevention, screening, and therapeutic services available throughout Arkansas. It is a chance to come together to celebrate and honor all cancer patients, their families and caregivers. Enjoy the day’s events including the walk, local entertainment, door prizes, and camaraderie. Visit the booths and take a tour of the MammoVan to find out when it is in your neighborhood! 

This year we welcome teams! Join a team or create one for your friends to join. Prizes will be awarded to teams with the most registered walkers, teams with the highest funds raised and other fun categories. Enthusiasm is a must!! There is a virtual walk option that provides the opportunity to bring Arkansans together. If you are unable to be in Little Rock, you can still share in the excitement online. The day’s events will be recorded and available on the website. Be creative, walk, share your stories and pictures. If you are unable to participate in the walk, you can still make a difference by fundraising, donating or through sponsorships. Funds benefit cancer research and support grants through the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, impacting communities throughout Arkansas.

Walk Information

• Optional walking routes available.
• The full 5K includes War Memorial stadium and the outdoor golf course.
• 1K loop is available outside the north end side of the stadium or next to the stadium
• The inside concourse loop is available with inclement weather.
• Both 5K and 1K walk route is wheelchair and stroller accessible. 

Activities

• Entertainment and participation by local schools
• Complimentary breakfast foods and beverages
• Personal stories shared on the jumbotron
• Wellness Group 10 minute warm up
• Educational tables offering information on health and care for prevention, screening, services and national/local organizations providing support and treatment
• Some onsite physicians to address questions
• Information on how to get connected to telehealth.
• Mammovan tour and information on when the mobile unit is in your community;don’t forget to sign up for your annual mammogram!
• “FUN ZONE” area

Additional T-shirts can be purchased at packet pick up or day of event. T-shirts are available while supplies last.  Reserve T-shirts for pick up and purchase.
